Legends is an incredibly exciting documentary that will showcase the heritage of Williams Racing legends Alain Prost, Jenson Button, Nigel Mansell, and Jacques Villeneuve as they race head-to-head with Logan Sargeant in his 2024 FW46 car around Silverstone. This race is like no other seen before, marking a world-first real vs virtual race.

I had the fantastic opportunity to follow this project behind the scenes, learning the ins and outs of the production, listening in on and capturing those critical conversations between The Mill, FCB, and the Legends themselves. Alain Prost, Jenson Button, Nigel Mansell, and Jacques Villeneuve, along with Naomi Schiff, Ben Collins (The Stig), Alex Albon, Logan Sargeant, and Williams Team Principal James Vowles were all part of this exciting venture.

My Role: BTS Director, C & E-CAM Operator

Shot over five days, we kicked off with the first recce and pre-light. The second day was all hands on deck as the main unit arrived to shoot the scenes in the studio. As well as capturing the BTS action, I also took up position as C-camera during the interviews.

Two weeks later we were back at Silverstone for the final recce and system tests. The following day was the first of two main shoot days were we would be capturing the majority of the film including the cars on track. Again, as well as capturing the BTS action, I also took up position as an extra camera during the interviews. With so much to cover, multiple units were a necessity. We had four Alexa units, eight broadcast units covering the track, and myself as BTS director plus an extra BTS cam op to help me.
